Hey there my pretties!
Just another random update to keep things going here.
Do you wanna know something that annoys me a lot...when people try to be smart but don't even make any sense. No seriously... its like you read their supposedly "insightful" or "emotional" posts and go like... what the hell does that even mean.... or maybe they're just trying to be cute by acting stupid... although i can hardly iamgine how a forty year old bimbo is in any way cute... no seriously... or maybe its just senesence setting in... But serioulsy people, and here's what I believe, act stupid long enough and you may actually convince yourself to be stupid... way to go... you just completely fucked up your life... Alrigh so I know I'm being a bit of a bitch here, but that's probably just because of exam stress!!!
Okay, okay so those of you who are working are probably going like
Working guy: "exam stress?! Pfft that's nothign compared to working stress!"
but then again we in University are usually going like
University guy: "High school exam stress?! Pfft that's nothing compared to UNI exam stress!"
and the high school kids probably say the same about kindergarteners or something... Idon't know... I can't remember quite so far back... so anyway I guess that everybody's always stressed...except for babies... oh wait no... I guess they get stressed when they poop themselves and no one can come change them..
But my point is, how does one cope with exam stress??? Well, here's the thing... how does anybody ever cope with stress. Period. Its pretty much the same thing really, so whatever works for you right? But hey, I promised tips on coping with exam stress so I'll share some tips on coping with exam stress.
1. Proportion your time appropriately.
Okay so I know a lot of people get hyped up about the ammount of hours they've put in studying for an exam but you know, I dont' really think that that works... well not for me anyway. There's a limit you see to how much a brain can absorb in one sitting and after that its all just like
Mind: Hey let's STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!!
Brain: OKAY!!!
...one hour later
Mind: Hey let's STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!
Brain: Fuck that, I'm gonna go be emo
So... yeah, study in proportion and take regular study breaks in between. How long... well whatever works for you I guess. For me, this means that I never study a single minute above what I am capable which means that once I begin to notice random things...
like OMG those flourescent lights look so cool... I wonder if I can remove on and turn it into a lightsaber... what are those lights filled with again, it was some kind of gas wasn't it.... oh I think I have gas... must be those burritos...
then I know its time to stop.
2. Surround yourself with Green things.
Okay so I don't know how "scientifically" proven this is but I think it helps me read when I surround myself with green things like, I'll choose a green background form y desktop, wear a green shirt... I don't know... use a green highlighter or something... because you know what they say right, Green helps relax your eyes and reading can sure take a big strain on them... no sense in not doing the smart thing and relax as you go along right?
and finally
3. Use post its or tabs to mark your progress
Okay so this is more psychological than anything but I feel that it reallly helps if, as you go along studying, you mark those pages with important/insightful quotes with those little plastic stickers or post its... you know, the kind with different colours. Not so much to help you remember where important points are...although they sure as hell do that... but also to make you feel proud about the ammount of progress you have made since you started.
I mean, there's no way you can look at a reader/textbook flagged like this:

and not feel that you've done a significant ammount of work. Also its pretty to look at!!! This is not mine btw, its Mr. Tillack's Gender Studies Reader. Yeah Tim I just can't get enough showing this off.
Yeah so anyways happy studying guys!!! I mean I know its stressfull and all that but really don't you feel a lot smarter when you actually understand something such-and-such theorist had said about this-and-that? I mean... if you understand what smart people are saying, doesn't that make you sort of smart as well? Anyway if all else fails I usually just drop studying and take a walk or a drive... usually to a mall... usually Sunway Pyramid... usually to get some ice-cream... or look at pretty things. No point studying when you're mind fucked eh? But pardon my French.

I'm the PROFFESOOR!!!!!! Wheeee~
Up, up and a Cyren!!!!!!
