...Yet, do thy worst, old Time: despite thy wrong,
my love shall in my verse ever live young.

    A Beauty or a Beast?

If everyone in the world agrees that a flower is beautiful, then a flower is beautiful. But if only one person finds something beautiful, if, say a medical student looks at a festering, septic, puss-filled, maggot ridden wound and says it is...then I suppose it has to be? Or does it not? Does beauty only count when a lot of people say it? Or if it doesn't, and the wound becomes beautiful because of that one medical-student's attribution of beauty...then does that make it any less beautiful than the flower that had garnered the attention of so many? Can beauty be measured in terms of admirers? Can it? No no no, forget that blasted instinct to say something like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Screw political correctness for a minute and ask yourself. Realistically...can beauty be measured? IS it measured? After all, beauty is attributed to objects. Plain. Simple. Objects. Would make more sense then to believe that the more people attribute beauty with an object, the more beautiful it becomes? Likewise, a flower only becomes ugly when a lot of people say it is. A supermodel only becomes ugly when everyone agrees that she is. It doesn't matter what she says, or believes. Her beauty, was after all attributed to her. So, when we take it all away...what happens then? Beauty...

    Flowers are Illusions.
